is an art activist, promoter, poet, publisher and teacher. His entrance into the cultural arena came at the end of junior college in 1989 with his self published first book of poems tilted “Poems.”
His visual art beginning came in August 1992 with Minus 8 a multi-media collaboration with Ivan Duran. Held at the then Bliss Institute Minus 8 directly questioned the traditional consensus of art pressing for a new understanding of the media and technological visual landscape.
His first solo exhibit came in 1995 titled Coming Out with a set of 50 paintings. He participated in his first international show Minus 5 at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans also in 1995.

Musa co-founded the Image Factory Art Foundation in June 1995, an artist based institution dedicated to the documentation, promotion, publication, and exhibition of art and culture in Belize.
In 1996 he published the Belize City Poem which was made into a fifteen minute video.
He has created several installation project works including, (a) The Clothes Line Project, (b) The Banana Boy Project, (c) The Facial Project (d) The Condensed Milk Project, and (e) Diary of a 100 Objects.
In 2000 Musa was part of a team of young Belizean artists organized by Joan Duran to present for the first time a collective approach to the internationalization of Belizean visual art. The exhibit Zero – new Belizean art opened in Merida, Yucatan in March 2000 and saw a massive 17,000 visitors. The exhibit went on tour to Cuba, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Portugal, and Spain.
Starting in 2004 Musa was a leading participant in the landings contemporary art project involving artists from Central America, the Caribbean and South Eastern Mexico. The exhibit side of the project ended in 2010 and recorded the participation of over 70 artists, writers and cultural workers from 12 nations.
From 2003 - 2008 Musa took on the role as the 1st president of the National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) in Belize.
As part of the 20 Years of Art show in July 2009 Musa released loose electricity a set of recorded poems on CD. See the writing section of this site for a transcript. On December 23 2010 Musa electronically released for free a new set of poems titled Limited Anxiety. On March 4th, 2011 he release an electronic book about the artist Kate Usher called El Fleco.
In September 2013 Musa was part of the editorial team and organized the launch of landings, a 465 page compendum of the landings process inside the St. John's College gymnasium.
In September 2015 Musa launched the 400+ page duo book titled Binomium with artist Michael Gordon.
From June 2014 to December 2016 he was part of BAFFU magazine editorial team along with Katie Usher, Kyraan Gabourel, Briheda Haylock and Rasheed Palacio. BAFFU magazine was a scan of contemporary art and writing from Belize and published as 13 electronic editions and one printed edition.
In September 2018 Musa in collaboration with Katie Usher and Lito published Bembe Vision, a book about 14 significant Belizean women.
Musa continues to teach art at the Belize Art Centre in Belize City.
